Winter Trip to Spain - Day 70 - 17/01/2023

Today was the most scariest journey ever !

We started our journey back to the UK, and said goodbye to the Arena Blanca campsite, home for the last couple of months, we will miss it here and especially the view of the mountains. I had to pack my sandals and shorts away, as we will soon be entering cooler temperatures.

We left the familiar sites of Benidorm and headed north.

We hadn't travelled very far, when the wind picked up. I don't remember ever travelling in such strong winds. The wind was really catching us and blowing us sideways. I was so scared of tipping over, and going down a cliff at the side of the road. Chris' knuckles were white and my heart was in my mouth.

We did see some beautiful rainbows along the way. Chris loved to point them out, and I politely thanked him, but mentioned that I rather he would keep his eyes on the road 🙈 (didn't he know how scared I was !)

We also passed the aeroplane graveyard again.

We arrived at tonight's stopover and pleased that there was space for us. We parked in the diagonal spaces as there was much more space inbetween each Motorhome. We parked up and had a quick walk to the local supermarket to grab something for tea, and then back to warm the Motorhome up, the temperature has dropped dramatically, something we'll quickly have to get used to.

I must end with a huge thank you to Chris for getting us here safely. I really was so scared, but there was nothing we could do about it. If we had stopped somewhere, it could be even worse tomorrow, and it wasn't guaranteed we would get a sheltered place to stay for the night.
