Today we left Benidorm. - it had rained quite heavy overnight, and was cloudy this morning. As we make our journey back to the UK, it's going to get colder, so time to pack the summer clothes away for a while 😎
It has been a struggle to get our large Motorhome onto the pitch, and we knew it would be tight getting back off. Then just as Chris started the engine, the 'handy man' appeared and helped to watch Chris at the front, while I watched the back - it was so much easier getting off.
Our intention was to stay south for a few days to make the most of the warmer weather, and we travelled 30 mins to a place called Benissa. It was described as having a lovely old village which we had hope to visit. However, the aire was full and there was nowhere to park so we had to move on.
We traveled a little further towards the area of Gandia. Again, it wasn't good for staying. The campsite was full, and the aires were too small, only really suitable for campervans. We did manage a walk on the sand though, which was lovely and soft.
We continued on our route north, and ended up driving for another couple of hours.
We found a great stopover with a hotel, bar and supermarket, which was really well stocked. The place was quite popular with locals and later a few trucks came on too. We ended up eating pizza, which we haven't had for months, and washed it down with our 2.29€ bargain bottles of wine !
