Days 155 to 161 - 1st to 7th October 2019 - Benidorm, Spain

With being in Benidorm for the whole of October, I have decided to do the blogs week by week as we plan on chilling and won’t have a lot to write about 😊

On 01/10/19, we headed back to Arena Blanca campsite, where we had stayed in July, and this time we plan to stay for the whole of October. It is still warm during the day, but cools down at night which is ideal.

We shopped for heavy items before going on to the site, and filled up with gas, so we hopefully don’t need to take the Motorhome off the site during our stay.

We arrived at the campsite mid afternoon, but unfortunately couldn’t have the pitch we had last time, next to our friends; John and Iris - never mind !

We set up and then headed straight for the pool to cool off - it was much colder today than it was in July, and quite a shock getting into the water 😱

Tonight, we went for a Chinese at a new restaurant that had opened up since we were here last. Very nice meal (as much as you wanted of both food and drink). It was a shame that the service wasn’t as good, but they were so busy and didn’t have many staff. Despite that, we will definitely be going back.

On 02/10/19 we woke up hungover from last night, but had to pull myself together as I had promised to go to aqua aerobics on another campsite with friends. It was good fun and I’m glad I went in the end.

The trees were being cut back on the campsite this week, and it looked like they may reach our pitch today. We cleared all the outside area and shut all the windows just in case, as we were being taken to a new (to us) market today (04/10/19) in L'alfas del pi. When we got back to the campsite, the Motorhome and pitch was covered - so we headed for the pool to have a cool and listen to the karaoke while they cleaned up !

On 05/10/19, we had a lazy day and then went to watch a “Boy George Extravaganza” in a local bar. He looked the part, but only sang 2 Boy George songs - still we enjoyed the entertainment.

On 06/10/19, we were in for a treat. We were taken to the West End Show Bar, and it was amazing - so many costume changes, and they put so much energy into everything they did !

Afterwards we went back to another campsite where they had Ska music playing - a fun end to the day.

To end our first full week back in Benidorm (07/10/19), Chris went to take some photos from his drone; over the campsite and also of Benidorm.

We ended the day taking part in a quiz in a local bar - winning a bottle of wine (which we forgot to take with us) ! Luckily, we are getting well known by the bar staff, so they put it in the fridge for us 🤣
