We had thunder and lightning overnight, but unfortunately no rain to cool the air, which resulted in another hot night. It felt quite eerie being in the middle of nowhere all alone (the owners of the vineyard don’t actually live on site). At least we felt safe enough to have all the windows open, to allow any breeze that there was to blow through - each window had such a beautiful unique view.

It was another hot day today with temperatures reaching 39 🥵, but I still dragged Chris out for a walk into the village - I think he found every bit of shade to walk in !

The place looked deserted, as is usual in these small Spanish villages, and by accident we found shops that were actually open, but looked closed - you just need to know where they are.

We made our way to a Spar to buy food to go with our beef on the BBQ later. We couldn’t believe just how modern and big he shop was, and the variety of food they stocked, compared to the other shops we had seen.

We passed by a pub called Bar Texas on the way back and stopped for a shandy. The barmaid got the glasses out of the freezer - what a welcome sight !

It was funny to watch the local Spanish come in and see us sitting there - the looks on their faces as they stared at us, and they seemed to be thinking - “who are they, and what are they doing in my pub” - we just smiled and said “hola”, after all, what else could we say !

On the way back, we passed a garden with quite a variety of fruit trees, one of which I have eaten, but never seen - a peach donut tree !

On our way to the town, we had seen a white van leading a Motorhome towards the vineyard. The co ordinates were a little out on the information, so I assumed they had got themselves lost and were being brought to the correct place. They were indeed parked next to us when we got back. A lovely Dutch couple on their way south for a family event, but not looking forward to the heat down there 🥵

We chilled for the afternoon, and then went to find someone who could open the visitor area and tell us about their vineyard and have some tasting. One of the workers happily opened it up for us and gave us all the background and a few samples of the wine. They tasted lovely so we brought some wines and a bottle of spirit - all very reasonably priced, and a small price to pay for our free stay.

We then had our BBQ and some white Sangria which we had brought in the village, and we hadn’t come across before - it was very nice too, but a little too much like pop 🍹- we decided to save the wine we had brought from the vineyard for another day.

Another gorgeous sunset, and beautiful sky as it changed colours - I could take so many photos of the sky, I just love it !
