We managed to tune into Charlotte on her weekly slot on 6 Towns Radio ( Fri 11-1) - it’s lovely listening to someone you know and hearing news from home - and especially getting a shout out 😊. She was going out to a special event this evening and gave listeners a choice of colours for her hair, and the bright red option won - Claire did a lovely job !
There was karaoke on by the pool late afternoon, so we went for a wetting (not exactly a cool off with the water temperature of 31), and had a listen. Quite a variety of singers today - it seems like the same groups of people follow the karaoke around the different places.
We then went to a local bar who was having a group on called the Stroller, apparently they are part of a Bay City Rollers tribute act, but just 2 of them here today; a singer and guitarist - they were good and played everything we knew, so we happily sang along.
We got chatting to a couple, who were enjoying listening to Chris sing, they had retired and staying long term in Benidorm. It is amazing the amount of English who stay here long term. I don’t blame them, the weather is great, everyone is made to feel welcome, everything is so cheap and you are out of town, but close enough to get to town and the buses are so frequent and cheap !
While the group was performing, the bar owner gave out free raffle tickets - as soon as I saw our ticket with ‘666’ on, I cringed - however, it was the winning ticket - a bottle of red wine for us - thank you very much !
No, I like to make people suffer 🙉 xxx
Hope they supplied earplugs for when you sang Diane haha x
