We enjoyed FaceTime with our family this morning - it’s great how we can all keep in touch this way, makes you feel so much closer (miles wise) than we really are. They have been busy ironing and packing their cases for their holiday with us - just over 2 weeks to go 🥰

When we were on a campsite in France a few weeks ago, we met 4 “Geordie” cyclists, who were cycling the 1000km Camino Challenge for Marie Curie. They were early in their challenge, about 200km when we met them and they were really up beat. We had a great night in the bar and really admired what they were doing, even more so since we left them and drove up some of those hills - how they did that and in the heat is just amazing.

We kept in touch via Facebook, and am pleased to say that they successfully made it to Santiago de Compostela. During the cycling, one of their friends had organised a celebratory BBQ for their return. We were pleased to see that we would be nearby on this date and went along to say well done !

They looked pleased to see us (which was a relief), the music was great and the BBQ was amazing. We arrived just in time to see a cheque for €1k - it was very emotional, and it looks like they have raised €4k altogether.

Ken also took the opportunity to announce next years’ challenge to cycle 500km during the first week of June - electric bikes included - if any of my cycling friends fancies this, then let me know and I can put you in touch with him.
