Today will be our last night on this site, we will have been here for 5 nights, and met lots of lovely people, but it’s time to move on.
I went to fetch bread for breakfast, stopping at reception to check that there was a bakery open in town today, with it being a Sunday. The usual receptionist who understood English really well was off today, and the one working there today looked totally gobsmacked when I asked her my question and she just said “What ?”, having no idea what I had asked. I then asked a more simple question which she understood and told me that the bakery should be open.
I had a lovely walk around, as I like to do. I was chuckling to myself, as I could hear Chris saying in my head “the bakery is this way” - as he likes to get to where he is going via the most direct route, whereas I like to explore a little more. I did start to panic though, as I thought the bakery may sell out before I got there - luckily they had plenty left !
The town has narrow streets and a lovely church with an unusual sun dial on its wall
I also saw my second “Ape” - the only other one I have seen was in Belguim, early on in our journey.
On my way back, a car slowed down and came to a stop beside me - I did think “not again” - the last time I fetched bread on my own, a young lad stopped in a car and attracted my attention - wearing only a T-Shirt, and asked if I wanted to play - I couldn’t believe it, I declined in no uncertain terms and walked on. Anyway, today it was an elderly Spanish couple, who I assume were asking for directions, but we couldn’t understand each other, and unfortunately I was unable to help them.
As you may have guessed, we had bread, cheeses and meats for breakfast.
Again, we chilled by the Motorhome and went to the pool as the families started to return to their vans for their late lunch.
We had a lovely cool off in the pool, and relaxed in the shade, but the shade soon goes, and everyone tries to move into the final shady areas. The only thing wrong with the shady spots, are they are all under the trees, and I managed to get “pooped” on by a bird above today - it’s supposed to be good luck - so let’s see !
We had a drink at the bar on the way back, and spoke to another English couple, who had been away for a while in the south of Spain and Portugal, and were on their way north to go back home this week.
We had a FaceTime in the bar with Ashley, Kirsty and Izzy which was lovely - counting the days when we see them - not long now !
We were going to eat in the bar, but nothing took our fancy, so we went back to the Motorhome and had bread, tuna, ham, salad and wedges - all very nice.
Finally, tonight, was a very sad night. I said goodbye to my favourite pair of sandals. I have had them for a few years now and paid a whopping £1.99 for them. They are the most comfortable pair of footwear I have ever had. But, all good things come to an end. Looking with them from above, when I’m wearing them, they look like new, but once I take them off, they are just falling to bits. So, with a heavy heart, I have said goodbye and thrown them in the bin 😢
They so cute ! x
Love the little Ape x
