We woke up to a much brighter day today, and went for a walk around the medieval village of Onati, via the wooded path.
The village was beautiful, such lovely streets and buildings everywhere we looked. They also had a modern addition of a child's scooter stand by the school !
We also had a look in a Bodega which had some really interesting items in there, as well as wines for sale.
We then made our way back to the motorhome and headed towards France. Part way through the journey, Chris said that he wasn't sure where his phone was. I said that the last time I had seen it, it was on his chair. He had a feel, and there it was, he had been sitting on it ! It reminded me of the time he walked around all day with a boiled sweet in his shoe and had no idea, until it fell out when he took his shoes off lol !
We entered France (no obvious border), and made our way up the narrow lanes towards tonight's stopover. Despite the roads being so narrow, we met quite a lot of traffic, and cars coming towards us at quite a speed !
When we arrived at the stopover, we couldn't believe what amazing views there were - all for free ! We were in the middle of nowhere, on the border of France and Spain with such beautiful views all around. I really must thank the author of "searchforsites", as without this app, we would never have visited the places we have - we really have stopped in some amazing places !
The road that we had driven up, carried on past the stopover. We had read that there was a petrol station further up, but there looked more to it than that, so we went for a walk to explore. We couldn't believe it - there was a petrol station as well as supermakets, clothes shops, bars, restaurants and the cheapest suppliers of alcohol we have seen. Whilst the actual address stated we were in France, the shop keepers said we were in Spain. The majority of visitors were from France, so we guess they must all come here for the cheap shopping - which is why the roads had been so busy !
Chris thought a little port would go lovely with pizzas tonight !
A few photos of a cat on a post, and a chap making fence posts !
We are so lucky to be able to experience all of this on our travels !
