During the night, I listened to the waves as they came crashing against the rocks, and every now and then, there was silence, before the waves came crashing in again - I’d never noticed this before but I found it so soothing.
It was windy again this morning, and the sea was choppy, perfect for the body boarders.
Before we left, I left a note for the English couple we had met yesterday, leaving them the name of our blog, and later they got in touch and I can now follow them on their blog - you never know, our paths may cross again.
We ended up travelling quite a way today. I think we tried 3 different places to stop, but they weren’t the best. The streets in the villages we ended up in were so narrow, steep in places with such tight corners, I really don’t know how we got out unscathed 🙈. The fields were quite dry, and it even looked like there was snow in the distance.
We ended up finding a Spanish restaurant in La Palma del Condado, where they allowed Motorhomes to stay over night in their car park. We arrived and although the car park was open, the restaurant wasn’t. There were no signs anywhere, and according to google it should have been open from 11:00am until late. We didn’t know what to do, as we felt cheeky staying over. At 7:30pm, with still no signs of live, and no other restaurants nearby, we decided to eat in the Motorhome. Three other Motorhomes had arrived by now, so it seemed ok to stop. Then at 8:00pm, the restaurant doors opened 🙄- so we did the polite thing and went in for a drink or two. It was a lovely building, an old bodega apparently.
