Day 8 - 07/05/19 - Rekem, Belgium

Woke up early and managed to capture a beautiful sunrise, and had our last Oatcakes, can’t see us being able to buy more anytime soon.

Today, we tested out our bikes. I had a bit of a fall down some concrete steps on Easter Sunday, and ended up with a grazed arm and a very bruised bum. I could hardly sit without being in pain, so I was a little apprehensive about riding a bike. All good thank goodness 😅. Chris was very impressed with his electric bike, he did look a little too pleased with himself as I puffed and panted up a hill and he just cruised up effortlessly.

We headed for the local shops first, to get bread etc. and then dropped the shopping off at the Motorhome before heading off along the side of the canal. We cycled for 7 miles in the end, and had an English pint as a reward !

After lunch we sat by the canal, taking in the sun, birds, cyclists, runners and boats.
