Quiet day today, as we left the Lambic Visitor Centre and made our way over to the east of Belgium, on our way to see family in Duisburg. We had a little "thank you" from Timmermans - they obviously appreciated our visit.

We did a little shopping as we had ran out of drinking water (yes, we do drink non alcoholic drinks ! ). Tried to buy a jar of jalapeños, but no one seemed to know what we were talking about, and we gave up trying after we were offered a cucumber, which we politely declined lol !
We identified an overnight Motorhome stopover which had “services”, but they were not working, and the parking was in quite a built up area, so we looked for an alternative and came across a lovely spot against the canal, 40 mins away. The canals are much wider than the ones we are used to in England, and have so much water traffic and cyclists on the towpath, it’s a lovely location to sit and watch the world go by, pity it’s raining again.
Funnily enough, a reminder popped up on Facebook today, from 5 year’s ago. Our friends had kindly allowed us to join them on their boat on the Llangollen Canal - a lovely weekend that was too !
We had a lovely lunch of Belgium bread, tomatoes, Belgium cheese and fresh peppers washed down with some red wine we had left over. The picture was just my food, as Chris still had his under the grill, and I couldn’t wait to take a photo and tuck in !

Did that man know you were going to hijack his boat ... cheesey bread looks yum. You might have more luck finding jalapeños when you get to Spain haha x
