The rain had been heavy throughout the night, and our neighbour must have had a leak - they put their van on ramps on one side to make the rain run off the roof, and then he climbed up on the roof to see what he could do, in the middle of the night. This morning, he was up there again with cloths, tape etc. trying to repair the leak. I did feel for them, and hope they got it sorted without there being too much damage inside.
After breakfast, we headed to Mimizan to see the sea ! It was beautiful with golden sand, and the kite surfers were out making the most of the wind and great waves !

We then moved onto towards Messanges, and spotted a lovely little restaurant in a beautiful village called Saint-Girons-En-Marensin, so we stopped for lunch. We opted for their menu of the day which was delicious 😋. It was funny trying to understand what he was explaining to us about the menu. The best was the dessert, it just wouldn’t translate correctly, so he went to fetch the 2 options from the fridge and as he brought them to us, he dropped the lot on the table - the cold custard went everywhere, it took him ages to mop it all up - we went for the floating custard option, but in a bowl 😂
Just for you Ray, we had beer with lunch instead of wine !
Our last stop for the day was a campsite in Messanges, where we were going to meet back up with the first English couple we had met in Germany, earlier In our trip. It was lovely to see them again, and catch up with their travels, as we had taken totally different routes since we left them.
They cooked us a lovely bolognaise using their Cobb cooker, which we washed down with wine, and sat chatting until late, watching the bats flying around above us.
