We had breakfast with our new Swiss friend, of English bacon and egg in a bap (our last English bacon for a while).
We then headed to Switzerland. Meeting diversions and going through major towns, trying to avoid toll motorways with the sat nav, but the road signs said differently- it was a little stressful ! However, we made it, and saw some amazing views. We had planned a stopover, where we filled up with water, but couldn’t find a suitable place where we could have a BBQ, so we kept on driving.
We had no Swiss currency and our mobile roaming wasn’t accepted in Switzerland, and we weren’t 100% sure of our insurance cover, so felt more comfortable making our way back into France for peace of mind, and may well head back once we have done some more research.
We ended up right on the border (just in France), at a place called Fournet-Blancheroche. The stopover was right on the edge of Le Doubs, and we had the most beautiful view with the sound of cow bells coming from high in the fields.
The parking spaces were in the shade as we pulled up, but the sun was just popping out from behind the trees and making its way to shine on the parking area. We had timed it perfectly, and had a BBQ of various sausages and very nice they were too !

So lush and green, and lovely lakes. Looks like you have the roads to yourself. Glad you enjoyed the sausages x
