Day 31 - 30/05/19 - Niffer, France

We got our bikes out today and tested our new seats, which were absolutely amazing - Chris never moaned once about his “arse”.

Before we left, we were speaking to a Swiss chap for quite a while, he spoke many languages and was very good at English. He’s been travelling for over 17 years and had visited so many places. He was moving only a short distance today and we said our goodbyes.

Lo and behold, on our bike ride we saw him just parking up and he beckoned us over for a cup a tea - he’s been converted to English tea !

We sat and chatted for quite a while, and the sun was beating down on us so we made our way back to our Motorhome, only to move it to be with the Swiss chap again. We had a lovely afternoon / evening. We loved listening to his stories of where he had travelled and the people he had met. We shared beer and wine with him, and he had a laugh at our pronunciation of the places we had been - well, the names made sense to us !

He then cooked us a meal of pork, mushroom sauce and rice, and we opened a special bottle of white wine from the vineyard we stayed in, in Eguisheim, and enjoyed the rest of the evening chatting away, and listening to the grass hoppers and then a little classical music. Managed to capture the flying insects in a light, and the lockhouse at night.

What a lovely relaxing couple of days we have had enjoying the beautiful weather.
