This morning we made our way to Rheinmunster, topping up with LPG on the way, and buying food and drink for a BBQ later. As we parked up, we noticed another stork, high up on a water tower, but couldn't see a nest this time. It flew over us later this evening, what a privilege to see.
As we had our brunch of bacon and egg baps, we listened to the lovely Charlotte Foster on 6 Towns Radio. She has the 11am to 1pm slot on a Friday. I like to chat with her on messenger while she is on the radio and share our food and drink photos with her. Thanks for the shout out again this week - same time next Fri.
We needed to get some clothes washed, and the stopover was just outside a camp site, where we were able to use their laundry. Just for you Jane, we have done something "normal" today, and done 2 loads of washing - I just hope I don't have to do anything else normal, like iron anything, hope it all dries flat !
As the washing was being done, we had a walk around the site. It was much bigger than we had thought, with a couple of lakes, which didn't look particularly clean, but people were swimming in there, and children were playing in the water against a man-made beach. I think most people live on site, the plots were laid out in what looked like small avenues and the awnings some of them had were just like small bungalows ! We also saw a very shy lady hiding behind a basket of flowers.
With our clothes drying, we relaxed with a bbq, and very nice it was too - thanks to Chris. We then watched the sky change colours so beautifully as the sun went down.
Today, we also had and English conversation with a Welsh couple - I think they were as excited as we were to see English number plates, as neither of us had been able to communiate with anyone properly for quite a while. Tami and Tony, we hope you enjoy the rest of your adventure and you never know when our paths will cross again !
