So today we headed to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park for an interview for seasonal assistant wardens. This is something we have wanted to do for sometime, with the intention to be able to work in the summer in the UK, and then travel around Europe for the winter months.
We were planning to go back out to Europe in the New Year, but as this interview was offered, we took the opportunity to go and see them. We went with the intention of gaining an understanding of the type of things they look for in potentional campsite wardens, and to see how we do being interviewed together, making sure we both manage to have an equal say in selling ourselves.
It was a very informal interview that lasted about an hour. The owner and main wardens seemed very nice and we felt really comfortable in their company. The owner then asked if we wanted to stay the night on the site, and we were more than happy to do so. It was so windy, we thought the motorhome was going to blow over, and the rain came down in buckets, so it was good to have a place to stay the night without having to travel.
Within an hour, the owner called to offer us the job - we couldn't believe it, the first interview we had had for warden jobs, and we got it !
We were delighted to be given this opportunity and immediately accepted the job offer. The experience this opportunity will give us will be so varied and interesting and we look forward to the challenge.
We were thinking of learning another language to make things easier when travelling, but didn't know whether to concentrate on French, German, Italian or Spanish - Welsh never came into the equation !
