Today we made our way to Würzburg, the start of the Romantic Road. Before we left Bacharach, we used the “services”, and was sad to see a man rooting through the bins. He was on a bike, and looked homeless. I think he was looking for bottles that could be recycled for cash, but just took some bread that someone had thrown away - very sad 😞.
It took 3 hours to get to Würzburg, mainly motorway. Lots of roadworks, but not the traffic jams that we have in England. The roads are so well laid out over here, you are prevented from moving in from the fast lane when there are vehicles joining the motorway, and the run ons are so long, you don’t have to panic and rush to join the main road.
The roads are so high too and the views are amazing. Chris doesn’t like heights though and told me he felt he could pass out when he was driving over the high bridges. Well, he is sitting on the right, closest to the edge of the road. To be honest, I wish he hadn’t told me 🙈.
The place we had planned to stay for the night, was just off the motorway, and we were both glad to see the Motorhome parking signs. We were greeted by a rather miserable man at reception, who could barely lift his head to look at us, and wanted to charge us much more than it was stated. I did question this, and reluctantly, he gave us a refund. We were going to be staying here for 2 nights to visit Würzburg, but will find somewhere else for tomorrow night. Anyway, our neighbours were much nicer, but unfortunately we just couldn’t understand each other.
We cycled into the little village, to have a look around, and brought bread, cheese, salami and wine for tonight. All very tasty 😋.

Enjoy your evening meal. Your photos are brilliant and your daily blog is a joy to read x
Yep, a familiar sight in London of people searching through bins. Glad you hadn't seen much of that in Stoke. Good you plan to move on ... no need to give miserable people your custom. More great photos thank you and hope you can keep Chris away from high bridges. Glad you are enjoying the food x
