We travelled to Andorra today. We loved it when we travelled from Spain to France, and thought it would be nice to see it from a different view going from France to Spain. We had been keeping a close eye on the weather, as it was predicted to be clear and sunny on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and lots of storms in between. So we needed to get the timing right to see the beautiful landscape.
We arrived in Andorra and parked up to go to the shops just after the border from France. We were greeted with a cow in the middle of the roundabout, no idea how it had got there, and no one seemed to be concerned, it was happy enough eating the grass !
We then travelled up to the peak at 2500m, where we planned to stay the night. There is a restaurant there, and last time we arrived too late to eat, so we were looking forward to eating there today, but it was closed - good job we have supplies in the Motorhome. We were obviously not meant to eat in there 🙄
It was very quiet today, and we thought that we may be on our own parked here tonight.
However, mid to late afternoon about 10 French Motorhomes turned up - it looked like they were on a rally together. Although the stopover area is massive, and was empty, the first one to arrive parked right next to us, and then the others arrived one by one, each taking an age to decide where to park - quite entertaining to watch.
Then early evening, the Motorhome who had parked next to us moved and another one blocked in the area between us and the next Motorhome, and they all brought their chairs / wine / food and they had a sing song right next to us, and didn’t even acknowledge us - if it was the other way around, I’m sure we would have been welcomed. Maybe, they were just hoping we would leave !
It was a lovely sunset again, and then we had a brief storm, where we could see the lightening above the mountains- fascinating to watch !
