We had had such heavy rain overnight and there was no sign of it stopping. The temperature dropped to 7 degrees too 😱. We thought about what to do next, and if this was a reflection of the way the weather was going if we continued to travel north, we decided that we didn’t really want to spend the rest of our travels in the cold and rain, so agreed that it was probably time to move back towards the south again, where the temperatures should be much warmer but more comfortable from when we were there previously.

As we travelled, we could see the dry riverbeds were flowing again.

A major sign that we are back in Italy is the cost of diesel - €1.16 in Austria, €1.64 in Italy !

As we travelled in Italy again, we saw lots of British gypsies travelling the other way - that must have been the most British number plates we have seen since we have been away !

Today was one of those days where we struggled to find a decent stopover. One place in Italy, although identified as a stopover, also had a formal sign saying that you couldn’t stop - there were a few Motorhomes already there who were obviously staying over, but we didn’t want to risk it, so moved on from that particular stopover. We also found another hotel stopover, but that didn’t feel quite right for us either.

Maybe we are getting fussy, the more we travel, as we have had some amazing stopovers and have perhaps been spoilt.

We ended up travelling for about 9 hours today, it was getting dark, but we did eventually manage to find a stopover in Brentino.
