Today we had a lazy day chilling on the campsite, watching the various boats go by.
We had fresh fruit salad with yogurt for breakfast, chicken / ham wraps with sangria for lunch and steak / potatoes with beer for our evening meal.
We had brought some cream for our bites yesterday, and hoping it would help with the itching. They really had had a feast on us 🙄. They did come around the site spraying today, so hopefully that will prevent us being bitten anymore.
We tuned in 6 Towns Radio, ready to listen to Charlotte’s weekly slot (Fri 11 - 1), and messaged her to let her know where we are listening from. Typical, seeing as we had perfect signal, that she wasn’t there today. Instead, she was on her way to the Murcia region of Spain. She had won this trip at a ball that had been arranged for a fellow runner, who had had a brain tumour removed that had left her needing 24 hour care - very sad 😔. The ball was one of many events to help to raise money for her house to be adapted so that she could go home.
We also had news that we will be featuring in a book, written by Ken Scott, who we met on our journey, who was part of a group 4 who were taking part in the 1000k Camino Cycle Challenge, raiding money for Marie Curie. The book is now complete and is with how publisher - watch this space 😊.
