Today, we said another “Bye for Now”, this time to Andrew and Gilly - it has been lovely to spend time with them (and Inge too). Had to take a photo with the brothers in their Black Lion shirts !
We then made our way to Unkel, and I couldn’t help wondering about what was at “Ausfahrt”, as there were so many road signs pointing to it all along the motorway. After a quick chat with Google, I soon discovered it meant “Exit”, mystery solved.

We parked up, and as it was raining, we had a nap (we hadn’t had one for 3 days !). When we woke up there was what sounded and looked like a Punch and Judy type show in a pop up theatre behind our Motorhome. It was lovely to hear the children laughing and shouting as I made my own story up from what I could hear.

Afterwards, we took a stroll around the little village and along the Rhein. The buildings and scenery really is beautiful, and the boats on the Rhein are absolutely enormous !
Stopover

Ausfahrt 😂
I tell you what, we are welcomed everywhere we go, they obviously knew we were going to be here before we did 😃. The boats must be carrying liquid of some kind - I’ll have to stop one and check it out, just for quality assurance 👍 xx
Very kind of the locals to put on a Punch and Judy show for you to cheer up your day. Those boats are very long - do they just carry freight (beer and more beer haha). Enjoyed the walk around the village 🇩🇪🇩🇪x
