Day 107 - 14/08/19 - Pradelles, France

After all the driving on the mountains yesterday, we decided to have drove a short distance today. After a cuppa, we left the Veal farm, having not seen the owners ☹️

We’ve had problems with a leaking sink in the bathroom, so we went to buy a replacement part. I still can’t get over, how we can be in the middle of nowhere, with only fields all around, and we travel about 10 minutes and find a huge DIY shop, a large supermarket, a petrol station and a few smaller shops ! We went into the DIY shop and a helpful assistant got the part for us that we needed. We then shopped for some essentials and filled up with fuel.

We then made our way to another stopover on a farm. This one had a “proper” butcher’s shop on site, and we brought some meat for a BBQ.

On our way to the farm, we had passed through a little village called Pradelles. As it was a little windy where we were, we drove back to the village to have a look. There was another great stopover there, where we parked and cooked some steak on the BBQ.

We then walked to the village. They were preparing for a fete tomorrow (which is a bank holiday). The village was much smaller than ones we have seen previously. After a walk back up the hill to the Motorhome, we decided to go back to the farm and stay there for the night.

As usual, we were the only Motorhome there at first, and then were later joined by 4 more during the evening. We enjoyed the bread we brought yesterday with cheese/pate, and I was just about to wash the dishes, when we were invited to have a drink with the farm family. We obviously accepted the invitation, grabbed a bottle of wine, and went to join them. Luckily, one of sons and his partner spoke English, so we could have a conversation with them this time. Gradually, some of the family left and as the sun went down, we returned to our Motorhome for the night.
