We left the vineyard, no tasting or purchasing this time either, and set off on today’s journey, initially towards Monestiés.
There was a Motorhome service point just outside a campsite by the medieval village. I went to have a nosey around the campsite as there was an unusual building that intrigued me. As I approached the building, I discovered that it was the shower / toilet facilities. It was a round building, and you had to go up the winding steps to the facilities - I loved it !
After about, what felt like, half an hour, we gave up on filling the water tank. There was no water pressure, and it really was taking an age to fill. So, we parked up and went to have a wander around Monestiés.
The first vehicle we saw parked up just over the bridge had British number plates on it, so we said “hello”, and yes they confirmed that they were English. The chap said that his parents live right there where he was parked and he was visiting from England, what a beautiful place to live. He also mentioned that Monestiés is one of 100 villages which are members of “Les plus beaux villages de France” (“the most beautiful villages of France”). An app that we use “Searchforsites” identifies the villages on it’s map, which is how we came across them. Chris seems to hunt them out 😁
We had a walk around and then went to find the only restaurant in the village, and opted for a lucky dip menu of the day, seeing as we couldn’t translate it.
Loved the hat stand !

After lunch we headed off to Comprégnac. More narrow and winding roads, and some not so polite drivers who expect us to get even closer to the drop on our side of the road !
Comprégnac has a stopover with magnificent views of the Millau viaduct - there was no way Chris was going to drive over it, so it was good to be able to get a good view of it from here.
We had short rest, as Chris is either full of cold or has hay fever, and then walked down to the medieval village of Peyre. It is set into the cliff side, and is another one of the most beautiful villages of France.
