Today we experienced a bit of the German way of life. We had a typical German breakfast of fresh rolls, meats and cheeses. Gilly then cooked Frikadellen for us made from beef and pork - very tasty. Here is a photo of the last 2, which we could not manage.

Afterwards we went shopping and saw a tin of Frikadellen made from horsemeat, think I’ll give them a miss !

The Germans buy beer by the crate and you can understand why, 20 bottles for just over 8€. You also get money back from the crates and bottles, which you recycle as you enter the store - every little helps.

It is interesting listening to the German language, I did German in ‘O’ level at school, but that was a very long time ago, but you can pick up the odd word here and there. Andrew is so funny, he had a German conversation and then turns to us to explain, and continues to speak German - we only speak English Andrew 😂.
He’s recently had a knee replacement and has been to ‘rehab’ for physio etc. In German this is referred to as ‘the rear’ - can’t help but smile when he tells us about his time in ‘the rear.

No need for Kummerling just yet Daz ! Jane - it’s been a long time, it’s coming back to me slowly 😊 xx
At least you only have to remember ‘bier’ bitte (not bitter beer)... have fun x
Love Frikadellen. Have you tried a Kummerling yet, very similar to what Jenny and Kev brought back from their travels x
