We stayed another day in Obidos and chilled. It was a showery day, but did manage to get out later, and visited Mel and Rob again in their bar. They are closing now for a well deserved week's holiday - hopefully we will be able to visit them again another time, maybe to coincide with one of the festivals.
Today we continued our journey south. The first village we had planned to stay, had very limited parking due to some construction work going on. So we just stopped for lunch and carried on to Grandola.
We had some amazing views again. saw more trees with their corked stripped and stacked up in fields. There were quite a few storks too - at one point there must have been 20+ storks in one field - we have never seen that many together before. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get a photo of them.
We settled in at Grandola, and then went for a late afternoon walk around the village. There was more to it than we had expected.
We found a couple of bars - they were so cheap. This Karafe of red wine was 1.5€, so we had a couple 😊

Whilst we were in this bar, which was very clean and full of friendly locals at the bar, a 'spaced out' older man came in, and downed a full glass of wine from the next table - the cheak of it ! He was immediately forced out of the bar - a lot of conversation took place after that, I would have loved to have understood what was being said.
