Today we travelled to Maulbronn, avoiding the motorways, and in doing so we were fortunate enough to experience the many pretty villages along the way, and climbing mountains with the most amazing views. Unfortunately, with the mist and rain, the camera would not have done the views justice, so you will have to take my word for it.
The rivers we passed were flowing with such force after the recent heavy rainfalls, that they almost looked like the sea as it lapped against the river bank.
This part of Germamy has many more trees, which look like they have been grown specifically as there were huge storages of wood everywhere. It would have been amazing to be able to stop and watch as the trees were being cut down and trimmed, but where we saw them, they were on a very bad bend on the mountain, and as the road was down to one lane, there was nowhere to stop. Still, I will keep my eyes peeled for another opportunity.
We found another great stopover in Maulbronn, with these views, free to stay for a maximum of 48 hours. We were the only ones for most the day, and then another 2 motorhomes joined us for the night.
We walked along a nearby path towards the town. We passed a gentlman sitting on a bench admiring the view and the various peies of "art", with a glass of red - how relaxing !
Following the path, led us to what looked like a town square which had been built around a monastery. Again, lots of lovely buidlings but they seemed much older than the ones we had previously seen.
As our walk was coming to an end, the sun was making an appearance, so we made our usual purchases of bread, cheese and wine, and had a lovely afternoon / evening outside.

That’s what I like to hear, you both deserve a break from the stresses of life 🧡
We did wash some clothes at Andrew’s, so are ready to find somewhere to wash another load soon, but in no rush - I am getting used to a slower pace of life and having time to take in the environment x
Loving all the news and pics. Is there any time in your day for ‘normal’ stuff like going to the launderette or are you washing your clothes in the river haha. It sounds like it’s a relaxing escape, enjoy x
