We left Feuchtwangen quite early this morning, and made our way a little further down the Romantic Road. Our next stop was Dinkelsbuhl, where we found another lovely stopover, but just stayed a couple of hours to visit the town. A beautiful town with lots of colourful buildings.

We made our way around the walls / path surrounding the village - which gave us some magnificant views.

Within the walls along the path, there were houses, which you just wouldn't have expected, and we also came across a well kept garden in the middle of nowhere.

Seeing as we only saw our first stork nest yesterday, low and behold, we saw more today. I am fortunate that my camera has such a fantastic zoom, so I can get photos of them close up.

We then left Dinkelsbuhl and headed for Nordinger. We had read about a stopover for only 3 euros for 24 hours and were lucky enough to get a space along the grass, so we could sit and have brunch outside. A gentleman in the neighbouring motorhome was playing a guitar, and it was so relaxing listening to him - he played so beautifully.

We had a facetime chat with Ashley, Kirsty and Izzy too, and the birds were singing so loudly, they could hear them back in England !

The weather was so hot we chilled for a while, and then took a walk into the town. It was full of the typical buildings we had seen in the other villages.

Chris took a look at the walls around the village, and saw that the floor looked more solid than other ones we had seen, and took the plunge to climb the steps and experience the walk along the walls surrunding the town.

Whilst we were up on the wall, we heard a band playing and saw lots of people drinking beer, so we quickly made our way to the next set of steps down from the wall, and went to see what was going on. It turned out to be a "Spitalhoffest". There was a bavarian band playing, and the fire brigade were showing off their vehicles, and people were going up in a crane on the back of an engine (I think it's called a crane, I wanted to say a fireman's lift, but that's something else entirely !). They went so high, it do look frightening, but I imagine the views would have been spectacular. We had a beer and soaked up the atmosphere, not understanding a word anyone was saying, so just smiled politely.

It had forecast thunder storms for late afternoon, and we just go back to the motorhome, when the thunder started and the heavens opened - it's so cosy in the motorhome, and we settled down to nachos, chilli and cheese, washed down with a bottle of red.
