Day 47 - 15/06/19 - Capbreton, France

This morning, we left the campsite, went to buy food and then made our way to another campsite about half an hour down the coast, where we booked in for 2 nights. We met an Irish chap who arrived just after us - you don’t realise how you miss the opportunity to have a proper chat with someone in English !

Interestingly, the French have mixed showers and toilets, which we have only encountered on the campsites - quite strange to experience this for the first time !

The weather has been so hot today, with a gorgeous blue sky and not a cloud in sight. We got the awning out as it was still soaking wet from the other night’s storm, but it soon dried. The French must be so used to the weather. Here I am in a bikini and people are walking past with jeans, fleeces and scarves on - I wonder how hot it has to be for them to feel the warmth.

We spent the afternoon enjoying the sun, and then went for a cool off in the pool, although the water was quite warm. I managed to swim about 24 lengths, I’ve not done that in a good while. We then let the sun dry us off by the side of the pool and people watched, as you do. We saw one chap who looked like he was with his son on the side of the pool. The son didn’t want sun cream on and was running around, and the ‘dad’ was running around after him. Then, when they went to leave, the chap could hardly walk, needing to use his walking stick !

Afterwards, we sauntered back to the Motorhome, where we had tea and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
