2023/4 Winter Trip - Day 01 - 30/10/2023

We worked our last day of this season, and started our 4 month break 😊. We have had quite a lot of heavy rain over the last few days, and were a little concerned about getting our Motorhome off the grass.  We waited for a dry window yesterday and took the opportunity to look to move it.  Although our handbrake was stuck on, having been parked up for so long, Chris managed to get the Motorhome off the grass much easier than he had expected.  (Next year, we’ll definitely be leaving the handbrake off !).

We made our way to the port, a little anxious having not taken the Motorhome onto a ferry before.  We arrived in good time, checked in, and waited our turn to board.  There were several lanes of vehicles, and we happened to be at the front of one of the lanes in front of a ramp to an upper deck.  Chris was hoping we were not going to be directed that way, as he was convinced the tow bar would bottom out on the ramp.  We waited patiently, watching other lanes being directed in different directions.  Eventually it was our turn, and to our delight, we were not required to go to the upper deck.

We parked up, got our bags and went to find our cabin.  The cabin was quite spacious, with an en-suite and window.  We applied our anti sickness patches and went out on deck as we left the port.  We then had a walk around the public areas and had a drink in the bar.  We then had a couple of drinks back in the cabin whilst watching one of the many films available on the tv.
